I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science & Geography and the Graduate Program in International Studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.
My research focuses on connections between domestic politics and international relations, international conflict, political economy, and foreign aid. At ODU, I teach courses in research design, international relations, development, and globalization. Before joining the faculty at ODU in 2018, I worked as a Research Analyst at AidData at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA and taught as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Government at William & Mary.
I received my PhD in Political Science from Vanderbilt University in August 2016. I also earned my MA in Political Science and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Politics & Policy from the University of New Hampshire in 2011, and graduated from Salem State University with a BS in Political Science in 2009.
